I mean, the processes are very involved and brain draining but its been made accessible without the dumbing-down approach that could easily have been adopted.

Its not just the pleasure of finally hearing a decent re-synthesis engine, its the sheer ease of use compared to all other methods I've tried. One thing I'm sure of is that this will all have a big part in the future of sampling for creating authentic instruments that are fully controllable. First attempts have been pretty favourable more experience will hopefully yield even better results. I've taken multisamples from the Vitous strings, (all mono, which seems easier to handle at the moment) and made a few patches so I can literally morph between the patches for expression. But its when you start to use your own samples that it really comes into its own. The presets are pretty good with plenty of template sounds to start you off - plenty of novel instruments that are very controllable. But, once I saw Cameleon I had to have it. I currently use FM7, Reaktor and ImpOSCar and PROMISED myself I wasn't going to purchase anymore (you know - less is more). The additive thing seems to be gaining some steam and it seems Cameleon is less of a cpu hog than the likes of Cube. Not a lot in the way of presets with the demo, I understand the paid version comes with quite a few more? What do you think of Cameleon? I've been playing with the demo a bit.
